- ahA! Miss Katsune,i discovered a flaw on you precious little game. I cleary said the best RP game ever. Snapping your own neck and coming back to life doesnt seem a very Rp thing to do,does it? Besides, you cant ever get enough of Oblivion. If you played it and explored it long enough, you'd find out you rarely end up without something to do. Hardcore players like me prefer an RPG with realism and a good argument rather than spending time talking to floating skulls.
Nuuuu I'm not whoever this gamemaster person thingie is, though I may be the mistress of games! Except FPS ones, those're boring. And racing ones. Well some. FX was <3 But anyways. RP games are "Role-playing", as in playing a role. If yeu play the ROLE of an immortal, yeu can choose to play yeur character as very bitter, jaded, and rude as hell, as well as willing to do stuff like that. (There's some other weird things like poking an art statue made from the elemental plane of ice, where yeur finger freezes off and yeu kick it under the display to hide it, or yeu can even let some crazy guy who got burned to death set yeu on fire to learn new fire spells >.>;; ) The actual realism of it makes quite alot of sense, if yeu assume that it plays within a certain realm of reality, specifically the Planescape universe, which has very specific rules and laws, to which the game is quite faithful to =3 As for oblivion, yeu have just a little TOO much open ended control and options, with too much exploration, to the point that yeu really don't so much play a true 'role', as yeu do 'wander about'. While I agree that it's an RPG, and a descent one, and in it's own right a very good one, it lacks the heaviest aspects of 'true' roleplaying. Of course, computer games always will... unless it's run by a 'real' dungeon/game master, rather than a pre-written script. Yeu can only play the roles available in the code... can never exceed their limits. Can only talk to who let yeu talk to them, can only do whot it lets yeu do. The daggerfall series was great for providing vast options of possibilities, but most of the towns and space is just 'empty stuff' rather than obscenely detailed with every single character being unique, even the generic townspeople are extra extra generic. The difference comes down to "vast gameplay area filled with nothing", or "small gameplay area packed ridiculously tightly with content". I prefer the latter by far, because whot good is it having huge continents and kingdoms, when they pretty much are all the same, with no real variation or reason to really move around? Every single thing in Torment has a reason of some kind or another, and everything can be interacted with in many ways; yeu can even avoid combat for the most part if yeu're really careful, and it's the only D&D based game that actually makes charisma *USEFUL* to a large scale... yeu can just flat out convince people with yeur personality alone to let yeu get away with some really neat stuff that makes perfect sense. In any case, that divide is a matter of preferance, but if yeu want to do some heavy intense research, look up some reviews for both games, both are often in the top X lists for RPG's, but Torment's usually near or at the top, and generally the only reason it's not is because it was rare enough that many reviewers haven't played it at all yet =3 Seriously, try it out it's really awesomes ^.^

| OMG MY BRAIN THREW UP WHEN I SAW A VID OF THIS GAME!!! Are you joking? That game sucks cow niples! Yea,sure, alotta options like"should i kill this guy?" and stuff and a nice story line, but thats all! Shitty graphics, poor animations, crappy details,i mean, even my 1999,Windows 98 IBM can run that junk! What the hell have you been playing,Genesis? Nintendo-64? Seriously, even the way you move the camera is dated last century. Also, combat system SUCKS! Its just like looking at 2 bootleg robots fighting! Oblivion combat system could be improved by adding kicks and stab/throw attacks, but damn,it sure topples planescape. Your game is outdated, start playing better stuff than those "almost 2-D,MS-Dos" kind of games. Oblivion is WAY better,period.....Jeez,even "Soldat" is 1.5x better than Planescape...and its a 2D game...

I rest my case. Your only complaining about the graphics. So far the game sounds pretty cool, regardless of how its graphics are. please.

| Oh someome shoot me in the head!
oblivion is clearly a superior game, I recently completed a mod for it called "servant of the dawn" which allows you to play a new main quest after the finish the full game, it lets you take on the role of the bad guys and command Satan himself in battle.

Granny, case you didn't know,Oblivion is a very moddable game, counting with a huge communitty of modders. Im one of them. So,besides its hundreds of sidequests, you can always mod cities yourself. You'll never run out of stuff to do. + Planescape has a crappy gameplay, making the game even worse.

| I agree commenting on graphics is a poor choice of argument about games, I still play a game called Battlezone 2, the graphics "sucks" by todays standards but it is an amazingly kick ass game. | |

| yea,its a good story, but players lose intrest after a while,as it is a bit generic. I got bored in 3hours,then i unistalled the game. As for Oblivion i played it for 6 months(i still do) and never got bored. | |
